What to do now that Debian 8 is end of life
Running an end-of-life release means new vulnerabilities in the kernel, browser libraries, and system packages stay unpatched. The next supported step is Debian 12, supported until Jun 30, 2028.
Upgrade one release at a time: point your APT sources to the next codename, then run sudo apt upgrade --without-new-pkgs and sudo apt full-upgrade. Read the release notes before starting.
