Devuan is a fork of Debian that removes the dependency on systemd and lets you choose sysVinit, OpenRC, or runit. Releases track Debian Stable closely, so most Debian knowledge transfers. It suits servers and desktops where init freedom matters.

Devuan system requirements
For a comfortable desktop with a modern web browser, plan for about 2 GB of RAM, and less is workable with a light desktop. Devuan is available for x86_64.
